Russel Hopper makes violins much the same way they were made 500 years ago. The identity I developed for him harkens back to his birthplace of Sullivan's Island, South Carolina, and includes his initials as part of his insignia. Each new violin he produces has the mark etched into the wood and letterpressed into the makers label.
